I want to extend a huge thanks for the signage at the gym for Team Dr.J being the overwhelming champs of the Crossfit Littleton Team Challenge.

Again I owe most of our victories to my teammate. She pushed and/or pulled us along for the entire ride.

We are not only in competition with ourselves. Within each CrossFit microcosm, lines are drawn, nemesis are formed. True, the bonds of Crossfit are strong; we celebrate and respect each other’s success. But go down another level and the innate ego-driven need to succeed steers the ship. We begin to identify our competition. Usually the same gender, with similar strengths, times, and lifts. We use them to our gauge progress, whether it’s staying one step ahead or trailing from one step behind, we know which workouts will fall in whose favor. Once again, this is not an unhealthy practice. We all need a moving target to chase, a walking embodiment of what we could, should, or will become. Competition lights a fire to stay just a little bit faster, stronger, or more skilled then someone else.
