Amanda Miller

Intensity

AMRAP in 15 minutes:
5 Thrusters (95/65)
7 Burpees
9 Box Jumps (24/20)

I wanted to dedicate this workout to Amanda Miller. If you can, try and make it today and we can crush ourselves in her memory. I first read about her here on Robb's site. Previously I did not know of her. Here is a link to her online blog. I also found these videos off CF Flagstaff. One is a video of her doing a burpee fundraiser to attend the games last year, so we had to have burpees in our WOD today. The other is some highlight footage at the games.

Her story is sad (and happy I'm sure), and it made me very sad to read just a little of it.

So don't forget, it's all bullshit except for your health, happiness and the ones you love.

I spent a good amount of time reading Amanda's blog posts. What an amazingly strong woman in every sense of the word.

Yep, she was dealt a bad hand.

I respectfully disagree with you steve she is inprising people all over the crossfit community today. From the posts that I have read today that was what she was going for.

Great WOD. Glad to do it in Amanda's memory. From the looks of it, she was one strong lady.
MOD 65# C&J for the thrusters
5 rounds

What a motivating woman. This was a hard WOD mod 45# thrusters.

that was awesome; sounded easy but was not.

Next time Terry I am going to set up next to you... a whole round, i mean really, you beat me by a whole round.

I tried to think about Amanda as often as I could during the workout...

I thought about her the whole time too. If she can fucking die, I can do some goddamn thrusters.

Well said.

Jared - I'm confused. She was dealt a bad set of genes/bad environmental exposure/whatever and died from cancer at a very young age. I'm sure that if she was able to choose between inspiring people or being alive and healthy, she would choose alive and healthy.

regardless of everything, that is a crappy way to die. My cousin died from the same stuff when he was 21. Thanks for posting Ian, it helps keep things in perspective.

Great WOD...found myself not wanting to go at 4:45 due to back/pneumonia issues and thought...'really Derek - you're bitching about that??' Glad I showed up - haven't sweat like that in a while.
