Since I am borrowing from CrossFit One World, here is an inspriring blurb from Freddy C., owner of CF One World:
...Besides these awesome athletes at One World, I have met some awesome athletes all over the world that are over forty. Many of these athletes are hanging and banging with their much younger counterparts. Lots of these folks (myself and all the athletes featured in the above photos included) didn’t even start Crossfitting until in our forties.
I am gonna say it right now.... Crossfit is a hedge against old age. Every workout I do is a beat back against father time. Lower body fat percentage, healthy blood pressure, better bone density, lower heart rate, lower cholesterol....you can go on and on naming all the health markers that will be positively affected by working out with intensity that Crossfit workouts provide. (Even more positive changes can be made with some simple changes in your diet.) Turn your health markers in a positive direction, and you will likely live a longer life with a lot less problems than men and women the same age.
It’s a short time that we are on this earth. I know that if I am not enjoying myself every single day I am alive, life would just suck. Being healthy is a a huge part of maintaining happiness. Its never too late to take a stand against old age.

Crap - I stay at home with my son on Thursdays but really need to find a way to come do this WOD.
It sounds awesome....you know, in a completely horrible it's gonna suck Crossfit way.
Great article- Crossfit really does make me feel like I'm 18 again.
The mouth on this kid!
Ian, I know you missed me today, so I will most likely be there tomorrow if the gaping holes where my wisdom teeth were this morning aren't acting up.
oooh! that might be fun to watch TJ do burpees on percocet!
Great note Ian! From my own experience; CrossFit has transformed me both inside and out. My bad cholesterol shrunk by 33%, I have dropped 35+ pounds and added strength! Can I get an Amen?!
Amen, Dean! Make that 70 points off my cholesterol and 45lbs off so far. The added strength is a given!
Those are awesome statistics guys, great work. That is very encouraging to hear.
Yes TJ..you need to head these warnings..one day you too will be just over the age of 25 like us!
Is head the same as heed? ;)
Yes it is..thank you making that correction for me..I guess I used up all brain juice on my pull-up yesterday!!
Lorie heads warnings.. hmmm....
anyhoo...
Catherine WOD of the day..
Deadlift lots of 12x12 pavers... edged with a old timer push edger ... triple cut front and back... raked.
:)
Holy crap Jen, that's awesome! Great for you!
Deano- also, wow, you've jumped into this with both feet, and done well.
I'm still not to my New Years resolution goal--I've plateaued a bit--but it is heartening to see others hit their numbers.
Our Wii-Fit game measures your weight and calculates your BMI--the character representing me still hangs his head and frowns when it calculates mine. It is a bit odd to be enraged by an avatar!
That's okay, Todd. Our wii-fit game gave me a wii-age of 61 the first time (and last time) I tried it out. Marion got a big kick out of it.
Anyone else want to help - I'll hold TJ down and you guys can kick him.
