Stuff!

First, if you are so inclined and have some time, check out this three part lecture by Greg Glassman (founder of CrossFit if you don't know) to the American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP). It is a fun time line type synopsis of CrossFit from the beginning. If you have not conveived of CrossFit past mind-numbing WOD's and just general physical suffering, it is very interesting. The larger and more important implications and applications are discussed. About an hour of viewing/listening time:

Also, I will be including some strength biased WOD's (not to be confused with 5-5-5-5-5 and 3-3-3-3-3 days) randomly (of course) in our routines. What does this mean? To oversimplify, it means heavy. Do I do this just so those of you who are barely starting to perform the WOD's as Rx'd feel like you are worthless and have to start over again? Of course I do. No, just kidding. As we grow we will have a wide range of abilities and capacities at the gym. These are for our members who are doing most/all of the WOD's as prescribed - for our members who are starting to look and perform like veteran CrossFitters . For folks that are not yet ready to take advantage of the benefits of these type of workouts, we can mod them just like any other so don't sweat it when you see 'em. And don't worry, you'll get there! There is no rush. If your 115lb snatch looks like a bad clean and press you are already too heavy and need to work on your form/technique. So forget about it when you see 135lb snatches. You should still be doing 95lbs. Again, don't worry, you'll get there. And fast if you apply yourself.

Good training to you!

Sounds like fun to me... more mind numbing fun, but fun.
