Ian,
is it ok to bring my friend in for orientation at 4 pm still?

Is anyone interested in doing a day-long "HOD" (Hike of the Day) and climbing a Fourteener this summer? I'm going to try to do at least 2 this summer, and I thought that one could be with the CrossFit folks. Anyone?

Todd - That might be fun. Keep me in the loop.

I've NEVER done anything like that before! If you think I could do it . . . I'd love to! I won't be offended if you say it's is too much for a beginner.

Corene, you can easily do one-- I am not thinking of any of them that have ANY technical climbing. I did one last year 30 pounds heavier and in pretty average shape-- I had to rest more, but it was still enjoyable. With the shape we're in from CF it will be a matter of who finishes first, not who quits!

Yes sir Adam.

Thanks for stealing the glory Todd! I was just discussing w/Troy on Saturday how I want to cancel Saturday Classes this summer and get everyone together to summit a 14'er.

Count me in! You guys will just have to school me on equipment . . . shoes, clothing and such.

Just curious, is anyone doing another UFC party for the PPV on Saturday?

No MOD, but slow - I need to pick it up this week...I'm sick of being last.

Count me in on the 14ers - sounds like a good time.

No Mods - Finally a no Mod w/o - so this is what Ian and Arnold feel like all the time - very nice!

Mauler said...

Looks like there is some interest in the 14'r!

I don't want to steal Ian's glory, become an accomplice in the theft of Ian's glory, nor comit conspiracy to steal Ian's glory, so I'll leave it to Ian to pick a mountain and a date to go.

Corene, I think the "vital" gear is: a pair of hiking boots (not running shoes), rain gear, layers of shirts for the cold, snacks and a camelback.

Sweet quote off of one of the main site forums.

Half of the reason your workouts suck is because you're not strong enough. Get stronger and your "metcon" problems will diminish.

Absolutely true about everyone.

Dean Armand said...

the other half of the reason is that the workouts sucks... as you get better they just suck for less time.

nicely done Steve!
